32 years ago, Oakley had a pivotal moment – on national television, it aired a commercial called Max Fearlight. Used as a visual manifesto, it set the mood and tone for the brand for years to come. Hidden in plain sight and never marketed, a very special pair of glasses appeared in the TV commercial; one whose design became what we know today as Sub Zero. From the impossible task of creating weightless glasses came a single, continuous contour lens design with a total weight of less than 20 grams.
Designed with the rare “N” lens-cut, a unique paint treatment and revamped branding, the MUZM Matte Grey Smoke Sub Zero is a pitch perfect homage. Designed to closely cover to your face, the one-piece wrap of Plutonite® lens material now comes with the bold two-tone Prizm™ Snow Torch Iridium® lens technology for an upgraded vision with enhanced colours and contrast to emphasise details. Made of lightweight and durable O Matter™ material, the stems feature the same white Oakley branding the protagonist wore before exiting the bunker. Cautiously balanced, the frame is also built around the three-point fit system for all-day comfort and optimal retention.
Delivered with a microbag and a custom Oakley Muzm™ box sleeve, this MUZM Sub Zero was selected from Oakley’s sizeable archive and infused with the latest innovations.
